I have a strong passion for teaching and extensive experience, including teaching more than ten different courses and supervising theses and research projects at bachelor and master level. I have taught at BA and MA level in Danish, English and German. My teaching philosophy is to engage students in current international research in a participatory way, encouraging independent thinking and critical reflection. The goal of my research-based teaching is to involve students actively in the course and facilitate the development of the analytical and scientific skills needed to succeed in a dynamic and complex world.

Master (Political Science)

Artificial Intelligence in Public Administration Department of Political Science Teaching Prize 2026

Artificial intelligence is entering public administration through screening, case handling and decision support. The seminar reads the international research on what AI does to organization, management and service delivery, and tests it against real Danish projects such as risk scoring of child welfare reports and automated mail sorting. MA students work these cases in groups, meet practitioners from municipalities and hospitals, and use AI tools themselves.

Management and Leadership in the Healthcare Sector

Danish healthcare is run across state, regions, municipalities and private providers, and by strong professional groups. The seminar looks at governance and leadership in that setting from a political science perspective, covering performance measurement, professionalism, change management, motivation and digitalization. MA students prepare texts in reading groups, work on a real challenge posed by for example Aarhus University Hospital, visit the hospital, and write a synopsis with a health organization.

Leadership and Motivation in Public Organizations

Public managers must set direction and motivate staff without crowding out the motivation they rely on. The course runs in three blocks: motivation in the public sector, evidence-based leadership training, and the organizational conditions for leadership and performance. Each MA student is matched with a public manager, develops an action plan, and presents it for feedback. I co-taught the course.

Recruitment, Selection, and Retention of Public Employees

Public employers are short of staff. The seminar asks how public organizations recruit, select and retain people effectively and without discrimination, using field experiments, correspondence studies and cases of international recruitment. MA students prepare texts in reading groups, work selection cases, and meet practitioners; the 2024 cohort visited Copenhagen Capacity and presented at Komponent's leadership meeting in Odense.

Bachelor (Political Science)

Public Administration

Public administration runs across the EU, the state, regions and municipalities. The bachelor course explains how each level is organized and how they interact, and works through the central administrative theories, from bureaucracy and steering to accountability, reform and implementation. Bachelor students follow lectures and tutorials built on cases from practice.
